Because I collect 'orphan' cactus and succulents, I was given a neglected cactus that never thrived. So I repotted it and set it on my front porch with the Southern sun and neglected it like all good cactus owners do.
One day in passing, I noticed what I thought was a "caterpillar" impaled on the uppermost spines of my cacti, but over the next several days it started to grow and soon bloomed into a beautiful flower with an amazing fragrance!
